For me, giving my puppy the best is my keenness. I would love to give him all that I would imagine to give my own children. Yes! Today there are immense ways where you can please and pamper your pet the way you like to. You can buy for them the stylish clothes, beds, carriers and even toys as toys can be the best pick to pamper your pet.

Especially people who stay alone in the house need some company during the leisure time and a dog can prove to be the best companion during these times. A dog possessor has many ways to entertain himself/herself as well as the dog. One can try to create an energetic atmosphere with the hushed animal if he/she takes care of the animal in a proper way. If you want to give your animal and your selves an alternate change, then you will definitely think to buy good toys for your pet so that you and your pet will never feel lonely and you will also enjoy each other’s company. It is somehow proved that dog toys are not simply designed for enjoyment sake but they are designed to satisfy the requirements of the dogs. The dog toys are especially designed keeping in mind the requirements of the animal like some toys are designed and can help the puppy to chew and some are designed to give them enjoyment and comfort. It is also proved that dog toys and dog games connect them to build up their motor ability. They also help in keeping the dog in a vigorous, healthy and lively atmosphere always. The toys are available easily in the market with expensive as well as inexpensive rates. One can buy according to the preference. All are extremely good. So there are varieties of toys which can help you puppy to enjoy will give you a 100% satisfaction that you have spent the money in a good way for your puppy.

I stay alone in my house so I had decided to adopt a puppy so that I could keep my selves busy with it. So I bought one recently but I was least aware to how to take of the puppy. My friend suggested me some tips and he told me that there are many ways where we can take care of the pet and he also told me that there are many toys and accessories easily available in the market for the puppies. When I surfed to the leading websites of the town for the accessories, I found that there are immense ways to keep the pet occupied. There are several types of toys, attires, carriers and many more articles for the puppies. Earlier, I was constantly worried to how to keep my puppy occupied when I would be away for my work, but now I got much information and knowledge to how I can keep my puppy engaged while I am away and even while I am with him in the house. There were several types of toys displayed on the internet while I was surfing for the information. I decided to place an order for the Cool Rides Designer Toy set for the puppy and it was shipped within a few days.

Grooming your Lhasa Apso need not be a challenging task when you start grooming them from a young age. This way they become accustomed to it as a part of their life. Although puppies don’t need a lot of grooming but it is useful to incorporate it after their general training as they become tired and quiet.

Dog grooming is essential for this breed as their coat can become matted and tangled. You’ll need to brush their coat in layers and start from the stomach and work towards the inner front legs then back legs. Then moving to the outside of the legs and brushing the undercoat and working towards the top coat and back. Don’t forget the chest, neck and ears, then finishing with the head and face.

There is a wide variety of tools you can use to groom your Lhasa Apso but the basics are scissors, toe clippers, latex elastic bands similar to ones use on braces, hair dryer, anti static solution, a detangler or diluted crème, pin brush and gentle slick brush, and a double sided comb with narrow and wide teeth. It is best to brush out any matting or tangles before bathing them as they may become difficult to remove.

Most Lhasa Apsos have a thick eyefall that generally needs to be pulled away from their eyes. Latex bands can be used to pull eyefall into a topknot hairstyle which is popular with some males or the other option is to use barrettes. Coat oil, detangler or conditioner helps remove matting and tangles, making it easier to style or braid.

Every so often their ears become thick with hair and require it to be removed. This helps to keep their ears healthy and infection free.

Bathing your Lhasa Apso requires a simple technique of applying and squeezing shampoo through the coat in a downwards motion. Massaging in a circular motion as most of us do with our own hair can cause tangles. Use a towel to dry them off squeezing or blotting out the excess water, avoid rubbing the coat with the towel as this can also cause tangles. Once you have the majority of the moisture removed use a hair dryer at a comfortable temp and speed to dry the rest of the coat.

Grooming your Lhasa Apso is important to keep your pet looking healthy, clean and avoid unsightly matting and knots. It is also a great way to bond with them. So for a happy and healthy pet groom them regularly.

Ear problems? Could
be food allergies

Years ago my sweet dog Avery started having inflamed ears
when he was just a puppy. I couldn’t figure out what the problem was. I cleaned
his ears as often as I cleaned my other dogs’ ears. I kept the hair around his
long ears trimmed. I used a good ear cleaner that my vet had
recommended. I even took Avery to the vet and we went through a couple of
rounds of antibiotics. His ears would clear up but, as soon as the medicine was
gone, the inflamed ears and yucky stuff would be back again. Believe it or not,
Avery had these ear problems, off and on, for years.

That was a long time ago, before people talked very much
about food allergies in dogs. The very idea that dogs could be allergic to
regular dog food? Preposterous! But now we know that it not only happens, but
it’s actually not uncommon at all. And one of the signs of food allergies is
recurring ear infections.

Your dog’s ears provide a warm, moist, dark environment —
perfect for things to grow. When your dog’s immune system is healthy his body
(and his ears) can regulate all of the proteins, carbohydrates, starches and
other nutrients in his diet. If your dog’s immune system is out of whack because
his body is having a reaction to his food, that reaction can manifest itself in
an ear infection — or in hives, itchy skin or other allergic reactions.

Changing food often helps your dog’s ears, especially if you
are upgrading the food to one that’s higher quality. Animal protein is usually
a better choice than vegetable proteins, such as corn, since it’s easier for
your dog to digest and produces less waste in his system. Corn and wheat, found
in many dog foods today, have been linked to many allergies.

There are lots of dog foods on the market today which offer
“novel” or “exotic” proteins. You should be careful about feeding your dog a
diet that is based completely on yak meat or making him crave emu burgers.
(That’s not very far-fetched.) If your dog does have allergies you should try
to use a food with an easily-available meat protein. Save the extremely exotic
meat proteins in case the more common proteins don’t work for your dog. Whether
your dog has allergies or not, you always want to have some options for him in
the future. If you feed him the most exotic foods when you don’t have to, you
won’t have anything available that he can eat if he develops an allergy to
those foods.

If changing your dog’s food doesn’t completely clear your
dog’s ears up you can also try adding some supplements to his diet. Acidophilus
tablets, echinacea, and Ester C can all help improve your dog’s ear problems due to
allergies. Acidophilus works to improve digestion. It has active live cultures,
similar to yogurt, and can restore any imbalances in your dog’s
gastrointestinal tract. Echinacea, in particular, can give a boost to your
dog’s immune system.

I wish I’d known about many of these solutions when I still
had my Avery. We battled his ear problem all his life. I tried one topical
solution after another but the ear problems always returned. There was one
terrible time when I tried a potion with blue gentian in it. Avery jerked just
as I was pouring the concoction in his ear and my poor boy had purple ears for
a few weeks. I tried to keep my friends and family from laughing at him but
they laughed anyway. Poor Avery! It was bad enough to have ear infections. Now
he had purple ears and people were laughing at him.

At least now we know much more about dogs and food
allergies. We can do so much more to eliminate these ear problems by attacking
the cause. If your dog has ear problems that seem to keep coming back after
every treatment, look at his diet! He may have food allergies. http://www.happytailsspa.com/

Buying a crate for your dog is quite possibly one of the best investments you could ever make. Crates are a great tool for any dog owner, because they make it easier to housetrain and make your dog feel comfortable and safe. Dogs that use crates are generally happier than dogs that don’t. When a dog uses a crate, he or she has their own space to which it can return for safety, when you are home or away. Because of their portability, crates allow your dog to travel with you, even on an airplane and in the car. You can attach a dog crate to the seat using harnesses and seatbelts. In addition to helping calm a dogs nerves, crates actually protect your dog from being injured, should an accident or sudden stop occur.

Crate training does take time, however. Using a crate is a learned behavior that you must teach your dog. You should never use crate training as means to punish or scare your dog. Otherwise, the dog will assume the crate is the result of bad behavior, which negates the purpose of crate training. To ensure a positive experience for the dog, start training slowly and move at a pace with which the dog is comfortable.

Choosing a Size that Fits You

Crates come in a variety of shapes and sizes. You may want to buy a crate that will fit your dog when he reaches full size, rather than buy a new crate to fit your dog at each stage of growth. If you have a small dog using a large crate, you may need to section off two spaces in the crate. That way, the dog doesn’t use one section as a bathroom and the other section as a place to lie. To break down a large crate into smaller compartments, simply use a piece of wood or a mesh screen to section off the areas. As your puppy grows, you can adjust or remove the barrier to make more space.

The space inside the crate should be equal to the size of the dog when it lies down with paws extended. The majority of crates have standard widths that allow small dogs to stretch out completely, but require larger dogs to curl into a ball. Your dog should have enough room to stand up in the crate without hitting its head.

Large dog breeds, as a general rule, grow out of crates very quickly, often before they are completely grown. You can buy crates made especially for these breeds online, through associations, or at pet stores.

Where to Begin

Before you begin crate training your dog, you first need to familiarize your dog with the crate. Make sure it fits the size of your dogs body, and put some blankets inside. Put a treat on the bedding inside the crate as the puppy watches. When he goes for the treat, say your puppy’s name and crate once. Let him to retrieve the treat, but do not close the door. Do not try to keep the puppy in the crate, and say nothing when he gets out. Repeat this process, only this time hold the treat a little farther in, so he has to step completely inside. When he approaches the crate, say the dogs name and Crate. Follow by saying Good Dog and your puppy’s name when he is inside the crate.

Tell him to stay and feed him several treats. Do not tell the dog to come, but instead allow him to come out at his leisure. Praise him only when he enters the crate.

As you continue training, the puppy will begin to feel comfortable being in the crate for a couple minutes. Once he seems ready, close the door for only a minute to see how he responds. Close the door for longer periods of time as training advances. Leave the dog be for a few seconds. Increase this time as time goes on.

Make sure you don’t come to the crate when the puppy cries; this will reinforce this behavior. Wait for the dog to be quiet before letting him out.
